Ian Forsyth is currently making some industrial locos for his layout. This is a Southeastern Finecast model of an ex Taff Vale 0-6-2T loco that was sold onto the National Coal Board in 1931 and worked on their Lambton Colliery network in the North East. It has a whitemetal body and nickel silver etched chassis, Markits wheels, Mashima motor and a Comet 50:1 gearbox. The original bunker and cab have been removed and replaced by a Lambton style bunker and cab in plasticard. No drawings of the prototype were available so he has worked from several photographs and also from a friend’s model. The buffer beams have also been modified. She will be finished off as NCB No 52 and painted black.
Les Chatfield is carrying on with his engine shed layout and for a bit of fun has just added a Triang SR EMU that will shuttle along the back of the layout. https://www.facebook.com/leslie.chatfield/videos/10159180271527359
This is an early Triang model so has the coarse serrated motor bogie wheels. Understand that he is going to machined these down to an acceptable dimension on his lathe.
Charlie Bloomfield (me) is in the early stages of planning a layout. The intention is to exhibit the layout, so this is where the planning starts –
